DER BLAUE REITER ;; BOBO CHOSES SS16 // BUCKETS AND SPADES :: BIRKENSTOCK :: FALLEN BROKEN STREET KIDS

Bobo Choses, Der Blaue Reiter is definitely a collection after my own heart :: as you may know if you have followed / read my blog for a while, I am a former art student who's goal was to become and art historian, I simply love art and art history, and the fact that Bobo brings out these passions once again, makes me love Bobo more. And any excuse to wear LOTS of colour, just makes my heart happy. When I saw these prints and colours I immediately knew that this would bring out my creativity and on a whim I ended up making a little video where I filled up the Matisse 2-1 backpack with art goodies, which resulted in us leaving the house and heading to the beach for some much appreciated paint on the beach time. So much fun! I love when my kids can just play and get messy and enjoy being a kid. They got so messy, Miss W is still in the age where she uses the paint as a hand lotion after a good 15-30 minutes of focused painting, so she had to head straight to the lake to wash of the paint from arms or legs before we thought about packing up and heading home for dinner. I couldn't help but picture Matisse and his crew painting by the water front and hopping into the lake with all their clothes on to get the paint of afterwards.

I chose the Art college knit tee as a tribute to my grandfather who was born in 1911, and for the town I was born, where the postcode is 1911. And because yellow is my favourite colour.
I absolutely love this cotton knit. Believe me, this might just be my very favourite piece from Bobo this season!

Mr C loved getting sand on his canvas, and learned about different textures and his version of  The Joker is now hanging on the wall in the study. Miss W's painting is upstairs in the lounge.

I hope your weekend was absolutely wonderful.
And I hope you are ready for the Bobo Choses launch TOMORROW!!

BOBO CHOSES SS16 // DER BLAUE REITER

"Der Blaue Reiter (The Blue Rider) was a group of artists united in rejection of the Neue Künstlervereinigung München in Munich,Germany. The group was founded by a number of Russian emigrants, including Wassily Kandinsky, Alexej von Jawlensky,Marianne von Werefkin, and native German artists, such as Franz Marc, August Mackeand Gabriele Münter. They considered that the principles of the Neue Künstlervereinigung München, a group Kandinsky had founded in 1909, had become too strict and traditional.

Der Blaue Reiter was a movement lasting from 1911 to 1914, fundamental to Expressionism, along with Die Brücke which was founded in 1905"

Bobo Choses loves art with a passion and Bobo Choses loves letting kids be kids and for parents to think outside the box when it comes to dressing our children. Bobo Choses has always had a big love for colour and this collection truly brings it all out! I Love the matisse print (the colourful painted one) and I love the brush strokes and colours. I adore the collaboration knitted jumper with Babaa Knitwear too. Such a beautiful and colourful piece.
Its a simple collection: the pieces are easy on the eye and very pretty, I anticipate that this will be a hugely successful collection yet again.
...And with that being said, I am dressing my two up in our favourite pieces and we will be heading out the door for some well earned coloursplash fun so keep an eye out on our instagram :)

Bobo Choses SS16 Der Blaue Reiter, launches TODAY Tuesday 19th of January!!
You can get the full range from our dear friends at buckets and spades

I hope you will LOVE this collection, and let your imagination take flight <3

FWC SKATE :: MUNSTER KIDS // HIGH SUMMER SS15

HI everyone. So fabulous to see how well received my skateboard tab has been. Thank you so much for taking your time to check it out. I hope you found it useful. There is more to come for sure :)
I figured I'd share the rest of the images from our recent skatepark shoot, as I really love some of these shots in these epic summer clothes. If you missed the skateboard post, it is to be found((here)) all my skateboarding posts will contain relevant info about skate related things. like protection, boards, shoes and of course, apparel.
As looks go, there isn't just one that goes with skateboarding, there is room for any style: The only must is that the clothes you skate in allows you to move freely.
Intro: Munster kids high summer collection:
If you do like a bit of a skate/bmx/surf look, Munster kids makes fantastic clothes for both girls and boys age newborn-15 years. They truly know exactly how to cater to the grommets.
Where most big brands slap their logo on absolutely everything, Munster doesn't focus too much on branding, but more on their quality, fabrics and look and is definitely one of the brands that fit our kids personalities the best. Durable, playful and cool.
To see what I mean, check this link  MUNSTER KIDS

I had this shoot planned out for weeks, but NSW was pretty much under water all summer and we never made it to the skate park. It was awful, the kids had just warmed up to skate park skating when it got so cold and rainy.
But this weekend we had decided, this is IT! and luckily, it suddenly cleared up and we had a gorgeous weekend where we travelled near and far and simply enjoyed every second of each others company.
When you have little kids there always tend to be so much fighting going on between them that everyone gets a bit affected by it. "YO! Don't hit her" "Don't scratch him" "don't pull his hair! C'mon! Give him a break" "Please don't push her!" even though you try to always brush it off again, it sort of sets the mood sometimes...  but this weekend was so peaceful. Nobody tried killing the person next to them in the car. Yay!
We went to our favourite skate park because the light there in the evenings is so beautiful. The sunset hits the park just right so it's just such a good spot for a magic hour shoot! So we skated up and down the waterfront and then we headed to the skate park where both kids challenged themselves with big grins and brave hearts. I love seeing them do things they feel are a bit scary. Challenge themselves. The pride on their faces when they nail it is just priceless.
Motherhood is a wondrous journey. Even when you deserve a Nobel's peace-prize at the end of the day. Most days. It's the moments in between that are magical.

Have a fabulous day wherever you are.
